How does a child ID work effectively?
Each child will have approximately 3-5 ID cards. Not only
should parents have a copy of the child's ID card, but
any family member, baby-sitter, caregiver, or institution
who is responsible for supervising the child at any given
time should also carry a current copy of the child's ID
card. It must be readily available to all care-givers
in the event that it is needed. Older children who are
out and about on their own should carry a copy of the
card just in case they are injured and unable to communicate.

How are the cards used if a child becomes missing?
The cards are a resource used by care-givers to immediately
enlist assistance to help locate the child.

Do you keep a database of child information?
KIDSAFE ID does NOT maintain a database of child information.
After your order is filled, the ID card is automatically deleted.
The only complete record of your order is the actual
card itself.

Why is it important to have a child ID?
Because the first 20 minutes is critical in locating
a missing child. It is recommended by law enforcement
officials, THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR MISSING AND EXPLOITED
CHILDREN® and other child advocacy agencies, that
every child have a resource with a current color photo
and personal information that is immediately accessible
in the event that it is needed.

How often should the IDs be updated?
To continue to be effective, KIDSAFE ID cards must
be updated at a frequency determined by the child's
age and rate of physical change. The following guidelines
are recommended:
Birth-1 year-Monthly / 1-7 years-Quarterly / 8-15 years-Semi-annually

How long does it take to receive my KIDSAFE ID card
if I choose to have it printed by KIDSAFE ID™?
Depending on the quantity, approximately 5 - 10 business
days from the time your order form is received.

Can I make an order of 3 cards with 3
different designs each?
Yes.
|

What about fingerprints?
Fingerprint kits are available for free with the order
of a 2 card package. The kits are complete with ink
and paper to take prints of all 10 fingers. Fingerprints
need only be taken every few years, and DO NOT need
to be updated.
